Héctor (Karra Elejalde) is at home with his wife when he sees something in the woods. He investigates, only to be attacked by a menacing man wielding a pair of scissors. Héctor runs away from the man, and finds shelter with a scientist (director Vigalondo). Héctor hides in some kind of enclosure, only to find that it is a time machine, and he's been sent back about an hour in the past. What follows is a series of disastrous consequences that alters the course of his life forever. This was a really cool movie. I can only elaborate on the plot with what I said above, as almost everything in the flick could become a spoiler. But I will elaborate on why this little flick is so gosh-darn cool.
The thing that I personally liked about the film was that it made time travel incidental, like J.J. Abrams's Star Trek. The protagonist isn't looking to get time-traveled, he just happens into it, which was something to admire. The protagonist also isn't some six-packed action hero but some schlubby middle-aged man who just follow his gut instead of intellect.
The plot of the movie can require several viewings. I really wanna go back and closely watch the film over again to pick up certain elements in the mise-en-scene, because without a doubt, the film is littered with them. The film revisits scene after scene, with characters running around trying to fix everything. For the 500th time I've probably said it, it was really cool.

If that wasn't enough for ya, the film runs at a nice 90 minutes, and those 90 minutes fly by since the flick is just so engrossing. It makes you think long after it has ended too. I kept thinking if I went back an hour in time what would happen. I'd probably meet myself, then that would cause a rip in the space-time continuum and then everything would cease to exist, including this blog, which, I know, admit it, would be on the top of your "Most Missed" list.
BOTTOM LINE: Timecrimes is a really cool little flick. The story is just so engrossing, and it has that level of intellect that makes the viewer think long after the brisk movie has ended. Time travel is back, baby!
